Vocalist and guitarist of the Tiger, from Nagoya. Growing up with guitars always close at hand thanks to a father who played, Lin started playing in elementary school. In high school, wanting simply to play guitar, Lin joined the light music club, met the bandmates there and formed the band that would become the Tiger.
Drawn to timeless roots music — rock ‘n’ roll led by the Rolling Stones, blues, soul and R&B — Lin absorbed it all into their own music. Starting out as a guitarist, Lin gradually came into their own as a vocalist as well.
In the Tiger, Lin fronts the band with an overwhelming voice and a stage presence that expresses the music with the whole body, and on some songs sings with a guitar in hand. That guitar is a vivid orange Gretsch G6120-1959LTV.
Carrying the history of rock ‘n’ roll without ever turning nostalgic, the Tiger play it as the sound of their own time — and Lin is one of the people who embody that music.
