ABOUT THIS 6120
In 1995, Eitaro Sako paid cash up front, using money saved from working at a factory, for a 1958 Gretsch 6120, and he has played it in practice and on stage ever since.
Eitaro Sako chose the 6120 because he admired Brian Setzer. His guitar is a 1958 Gretsch 6120, serial number 26520.
He bought it in 1995. After working at a factory for about a year, he paid for it in full, in cash. Since then, this one guitar has been his choice for both practice and live shows.
The finish was beautiful when he first got the guitar, but a good deal of it has worn away over the years. Even so, he says the sound and the feel when playing are the best.
Over the long years of playing, the guitar has had some changes to its parts. The frets, nut and bridge (Gotoh) have been replaced, and the tuners are now Gotoh locking tuners. The pickups have been swapped for TV JONES CLASSIC pickups. The tone switch has been removed, and the knobs are handmade dice knobs.
